Qualified candidates will be able to independently design lighting and power systems, analyze existing electrical systems for buildings, and have thorough knowledge of the common electrical code as well as the energy code for buildings. Candidates must have the ability to design lighting systems, perform photometritic analysis, electrical short circuit analysis, energy code calculations, and building power load analysis. Candidates with AutoCAD experience is a plus, hands-on design experience, highly professional and the ability to easily communicate with customers and other design professionals.
Responsibilities:
Identify customer lighting requirements;
Design, test and qualify lighting and power systems;
Read design specifications and technical drawings;
Research suitable solutions and estimating costs and timescales;
Knowledge in common electrical standards and codes;
Record, analyze and interpret test data;
Servicing and maintaining equipment;
Prepare product documentation, write reports and give presentations;
Monitor a product in use so as to improve on future design.
